Kudos recently announced the launch
of Kudos Pictures, a new stand-alone production company created
with former FilmFour head Paul Webster. Paul has produced or executive
produced 29 films to date including Motorcycle Diaries, Little Voice
and Pride and Prejudice. He has supervised around another 40 films
and has been associated with projects that have garnered over 100
awards including 3 BAFTAs for Best British Film and 6 Oscar nominations.
This new partnership with Stephen Garrett and Jane Featherstone
promises to develop a rich new source of product to carry the baton
for Kudos’ film success since the department was established
in 1997. With an already impressive list of projects for the big
and small screens Kudos Pictures is expected to build ever higher
on Paul and Kudos’ past successes.
Past credits for the Kudos film department include Among Giants
(starring Pete Postlethwaite and Rachel Griffiths) and Pure, directed
by Gillies Mackinnon (Hideous Kinky) and starring Molly Parker (Wonderland),
Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Bend it Like Beckham,
Pride and Prejudice) and introducing British Independent Film Awards
Best Newcomer Harry Eden (Peter Pan). Paul’s impressive past
credits include Touching the Void, Sexy Beast, East is East, Bob
Roberts, Once Upon a Time in the Midlands, The Warrior, Romeo Is
Bleeding and The Tall Guy.
