Shine Pictures
Shine Pictures is the exciting new joint venture between Kudos Pictures, the Shine Group’s film arm and New Regency one of Hollywood’s top producer-financiers.
Shine Pictures will develop and produce broad-based commercial films for the global marketplace. First to go will be William “Gladiator” Nicholson’s story of the epic events that led to the creation of modern England in “1066” as the two greatest warriors of the era, King Harold and William the Conqueror battle it out for the throne. Shortly after follows “Twisted Wing” a Cambridge campus-set thriller that brilliant newcomer J. Blakeson will adapt from Ruth Newman’s novel.
The concept for Shine Pictures was born out of conversations between New Regency owner Arnon Milchan and Shine Group’s CEO and Chairman Elisabeth Murdoch.
Once Shine’s Stephen Garrett and Paul Webster sat down with NR co-chairmen Bob Harper and Hutch Parker things really took shape. “It became rapidly clear that there was a huge opportunity to harness the talent of British television and film with the resources of a worldwide player like New Regency. In Hutch and Bob we felt we had found the ideal creative and business partners” commented Webster and Garrett. ”Not only do we have a home for our own projects but the appetite is such that we can readily partner up with other producers, we see the Venture as a true hub for creative content in the UK, Europe and beyond.”
All Shine Pictures productions will be released worldwide through Twentieth Century Fox
