Head of Film Development Kudos PicturesEd decided on a career in film aged 20, after watching Apocalypse Now from the front row of the cinema with his jaw on the floor. He went on to graduate from the three-year producer's programme at the UK National Film and Television School, where he produced three short films. He was also the author of a Department of Trade and Industry-funded study into the dynamics of successful small nations' film industries, having spent five months seconded to the New Zealand Film Commission and Danish Film Institute. He then became a Development Producer and Tutor for Arista Development; organising, devising and leading script development workshops around the world.

Ed then worked at Capitol Films as Head of Development and Acquisitions for three years, involved in the acquisition and production of John Maybury's The Edge of Love, Sidney Lumet's Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Paddy Breathnach's Shrooms, and Nigel Cole's Five Dollars a Day. He joined Kudos in 2008 as Head of Film Development, working alongside Stephen Garrett and Paul Webster to find, develop and produce feature film projects for Kudos Pictures.
